This Privacy Policy explains how Misfit Mixers, LLC ("Misfit Mixers", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit misfitmixers.com, buy from our store, create an account, sign up for our emails, or use the Murder on the Rocks companion app (together, the "Services").

1. Who we are

Misfit Mixers, LLC is a board game studio based in Pennsylvania, United States, and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@misfitmixers.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us.

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number and shipping and billing addresses.
  • Account details: your login email, password (stored in encrypted form by our platform), first and last name and order history.
  • Order details: products bought, prices, discounts or gifts applied, and delivery preferences.
  • Payment details: payments are processed at checkout by our store platform and its payment processors. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send us through our contact form, by email or in a product review.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have signed up for our newsletter, email or SMS updates.

Information collected automatically. When you browse our site we and our service providers collect device and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, items added to cart, the page that referred you and approximate location. We collect this through cookies, pixels and similar technologies (see section 5).

3. How we use your information

  • To process and ship your orders, apply free shipping or gift offers, send order and shipping updates, and handle returns and refunds.
  • To create and manage your customer account.
  • To answer your questions and provide customer support.
  • To send you news, offers and game updates by email or SMS when you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, by replying STOP to SMS messages, or by contacting us.
  • To show and manage product reviews.

  • To prevent fraud, keep the Services secure and comply with our legal obligations.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as needed to run our business, with:

  • Our e-commerce platform: SHOPLINE hosts our store, accounts, checkout, search and reviews.
  • Payment processors that handle card and other payments at checkout under their own privacy policies.
  • Shipping and fulfillment partners: we use ShipStation and the postal and courier companies that deliver your order, who receive your name, address and, where needed, your phone number or email for delivery updates.
  • Marketing and analytics providers, such as our email and SMS service, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, which help us send messages, measure visits and show ads.
  • Hosting providers for the companion app (Vercel).
  • Professional advisers and authorities when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business.

5. Cookies, pixels and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and login working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used and measure our marketing. We use the Meta Pixel and Google tools, which may collect information about your visits to show you relevant ads on other sites and apps (remarketing). Sharing data for this kind of targeted advertising may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some US state laws.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and our cookie banner where shown. You can also opt out of interest-based ads at Facebook Ad Preferences, Google Ad Settings and aboutads.info. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising.

6. Companion app

The Murder on the Rocks companion app runs in your browser on our site. It is used to run game sessions (players, timers, scenarios and hints) and does not ask you for personal information. Our hosting provider may log basic technical data such as IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the app.

7. How long we keep information

We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes. We keep account information while your account is open, and marketing data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that we delete or anonymize it.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete your information;
  • opt out of marketing messages, targeted advertising, and any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information;
  • appeal our decision on your request.

To make a request, email support@misfitmixers.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. You can also update your details and marketing preferences in your account. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to object to or restrict our processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We and our providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and secure payment processing. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

10. Age requirements

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Our games include cocktail recipes and are intended for adults 21 and over when played with alcohol. Mocktail versions are included for anyone who prefers not to drink. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International visitors

We are based in the United States and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes, we will tell you on our site or by email.
